On the Road in the Wintry Cultural Landscape

The ice wine harvest is finished, and the pruning is done. Peace returns to Germany's vineyards. Winter freezes the steep slopes and covers the vineyards in a glittering frost. But the special magic of frozen vines and the gentle glitter of ice crystals is something not to be missed. We recommend getting out and about in the wintry cultural landscape! How about a walk or an individual exploration tour? Baden-Württemberg's wine regions offers a variety of events and guided tours through the wine-producing landscape also during the colder months.

If you are still looking for an idea for the office Christmas party or an atmospheric gathering with family or friends, this is the perfect choice. The many informative stories about the country, its people and Württemberg's wine culture are anything but "dry".

Connoisseurs and fans of wine festivals do not have to wait until spring in the Rems Valley. On the final weekend in January, the culinary festival season is already underway, with the 'WinterWeinweg' in the vineyards around Yburg castle in Kernen-Stetten. No fewer than four culinary points offer wines from local wine-growing families, against a backdrop of magnificent views. Regional restaurateurs provide the right sustenance to go with the wine. 5. GLOTTERTAL'S YOUNG WINEMAKERS

Winter Party in the Vineyard

Wine festivals have a long tradition in Baden and Württemberg. They continue to enjoy great popularity among locals and visitors alike. What could be better than getting together over a fine glass of wine on a balmy summer evening? Just enjoy life. But winter also offers great conditions for a party in the vineyard. As demonstrated by the Glottertal young winemakers ("Glottertäler Jungwinzer") with their "Roter Bur on Fire" event. Under the motto "We'll keep you warm", they invite winter wine fans to the Schlossberg at the beginning of the year. And the temperature is kept nice and toasty with fire, mulled wine, hot cocktails and warm shots.

Winemaker for a Day

6. MARKGRÄFLER WeinkOLLEG

Winemaker for a Day

Pruning in winter lays the foundation for a new wine year. But what else do winegrowers have to do during the colder months? The answer can be found at the Markgräfler Weinkolleg. Anyone who wants to can also lend a hand. The one-day seminars take place over the entire course of a wine-making year. They provide plenty of know-how. A hearty vintner's snack and a bottle of wine are part of the deal. However, participants must bring their own work clothes and sturdy shoes, plus an eagerness to learn. It's pretty straightforward!
